English for Work — Level 2

The English for Work, Level 2 course is designed to improve learners’ practical English communication skills for employment, vocational training, and everyday workplace situations. Many capable workers face difficulties finding or retaining employment because they lack confidence in workplace communication. This course aims to reduce that barrier. Key areas may include: Basic workplace English Speaking and listening skills Workplace vocabulary Introducing oneself professionally Communicating with customers and colleagues Giving and receiving instructions Asking and answering questions Telephone and basic digital communication Reading workplace information Writing simple workplace messages Job-related vocabulary Interview preparation Workplace manners and professional communication Potential opportunities The course can improve learners’ readiness for: Employment Interviews Customer-facing work Workplace communication Further vocational training Overseas employment preparation, where appropriate English for Work can also be offered as a supporting employability course alongside the institute’s other vocational programs.
